CHEAP LAP BAND?
Think Twice!
How much would you risk your health or success because of Money being a factor for choosing your Doctor?
Before you give any answer to this question, I recommend you read this first.
Did you know that from about 80,000 new teachers tested for the first time this year in Mexico (2008) more than 70% did not get the minimum grade to be qualified as teachers ( two out of three!!)? In spite of the fact that they are not qualified, the Government is likely to keep sending them to the classrooms in Public Schools with their license and certificate of teachers.
This happens in the twenty first century, but what about 10, 20 or 30 years ago in Mexico when your doctor was in Elementary, High School or Medical School where tests were not applied to anyone? Back then, Public Schools were even worse and things have changed very little since then. That’s why it is extremely important for you to choose a doctor who comes from a Private School.
To ensure that your Doctor is fully qualified, it is not only important that you check his Basic Education background but also his certifications as a Doctor. Have you researched “Cheap Lap Band Doctors”? Do you know if he has attended a Public School? Did he attend a Public Medical School? He might not meet the minimum to be your “Qualified Doctor” as the promotion says. These kinds of Doctors are usually hired for little money to do the surgeries for big companies whose business is to promote in the USA very cheap Bariatric surgeries over the border.
Check if your Doctor has the E.C.F.M.G Certification (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) which proves that he meets the minimum that is asked for in the States to be a Doctor.
Did he become a Surgeon at Public Health Care? Mexico’s Public Health Care is well known by the population as “bad medicine” because of their lack of good Medical Training Programs, lack of follow up examinations to prove capacity, skills and knowledge of the Doctors and the lack of human compassion.
It is very important to choose a qualified Doctor that you can trust with your life.
Did you know the Lap Band, Gastric Sleeve or Gastric Bypass prices can be lowered considerably at the border towns like Tijuana, Mexicali and Juarez? How do they do that? How do they reduce the normal expenses for the Lap Band Surgery, the Gastric Sleeve or the Bypass? The answer is very simple: There is a black market in Tyco staplers and Lap Bands at the border towns; these items are obtained for less than 50% the real cost. Do you know how they got into Mexico from the factory? Why are they selling them so cheap? Does the factory know about that? Under what conditions did they arrive to Mexico? Are they still sterile? Do you know they use instruments and trocars several times even when those were made for one use only because of the raise for offering the cheapest Lap band, Sleeve or Bypass Procedure?
How can you be sure they will use the Latest Technology on you? Using staplers as the Echelon from Ethicon (which minimize the leaking risk) in cases of Gastric Sleeve or Gastric Bypass or using the Realize Band for Gastric Banding. These are not on the black market yet.
Do you think that Doctors with this sort of ethics (or no ethics at all) will pay the full price for the best instruments if they have the option of using material they have at their office almost for free?
Have you tested the honesty of your doctor’s coordinators? Some of them do not work for any doctor, and you should know that brokerage companies hire them to schedule surgeries for one or several doctors and make commission to do so. They can say wonderful things about the Doctor, things that may not be true at all because what moves them is the money they will make from you having the surgery with them.
Until four years ago there were only nine Surgeons doing Lap bad Procedures in the north of Mexico and now only at the border towns there are close to eighty surgeons claiming to be the experts and eager to get new patients!!
Would you go after the price now that you know what some Doctors would do to keep low Lap band, Gastric Sleeve and Gastric Bypass prices? Now that you know the risk, are you willing to take it? I would consider it a hundred times before choosing someone by the price offered!
