Dr. Rodriguez,
I have enjoyed reading your blog, thanks for doing it, and for putting so much information into it.
I have a Lap-Band AP Standard, my band was place in Oct 2008. I have been very successful, lost 128 lbs. Yesterday I went for the barium thing, and my doctor took out all of my fluid, he said I had concentric pouch dilation. The plan is to do the barium again in 6 weeks, see if it looks better, if not we will wait until it does, then he says we can slowly start to put fluid back in.
My concern here is weight gain. I do not want to undo everything the band help me to achieve, what can I do to limit or prevent weight gain while waiting for this to subside? My lapband was the best thing I ever did, I just do not want to gain it back.
Would it be smart to meet with a nutritionist?

Hi Christine,
I like to place a new lapband to patients that I have de banded for lapband slippage and have a old lapband model.
In cases of lapband erosion, some of them I recommend the sleeve specially if the erosion was large.

what is the best re do if it was the band and behavior that caused the failure?? What is the best option???
